Sport is a huge part of life at Carrdus for all our children and we offer a wide and varied PE curriculum along with numerous sports clubs before, during and after school. This represents much more than a list of activities, and gives our children opportunities to develop and hone skills, enjoy being part of a team, keep fit and learn to both win and lose gracefully. Trying to master new skills and not being afraid of failure is key to the sporting life at Carrdus.
In the Lower School, children are introduced to a wide range of sports including Gymnastics, Dance, Hockey, Netball, Football, Cricket, Tag Rugby, Athletics, Swimming and Tennis. The Upper School focus is on Hockey, Netball, Swimming and there is Rounders and Cross Country too. Competitive team sports against other schools are a regular feature and all children in years 3 to 6 have the opportunity to represent the school in fixtures. The children swim regularly each week from April to October in our heated outdoor swimming pool and even the most reluctant participants become confident swimmers. Much of the school PE and Sport takes part at Carrdus, making full use of the beautiful school grounds, the indoor and the outdoor facilities. In addition to this, we benefit from the excellent facilities and coaching staff at Tudor Hall.
