Nursery is a warm, friendly space that opens onto its own secure garden enclosed within our grounds so that Nursery children can learn and play in their own outdoor classroom as well as mix with the older children during break times.

No day in Nursery is the same. Before they know it children are experimenting with letter sounds, making marks in sand for their first writing, collaborating in groups on the floor or listening to how something can be made before making it. They are soon running out to the garden for some practical Science activity or into the Gym or swimming pool for lessons with specialist teachers. Nursery children rapidly gain confidence, relax into the school routine and are more than ready for the move into Reception after the summer holidays.

Children can join the Nursery in the term in which they turn 3 years old. They can attend from three mornings a week up to five full days.  Morning hours are from 08:30 to 11:45 before lunch, or 12:40 after lunch. Full days are from 08:30 to 15:30. When longer days are helpful, children can join our Teatimers ‘club’ which ends at 17:30.
